Full, Perfect Brows—Finally

Microblading is a popular cosmetic treatment that uses a nanoblade (a tool that consists of 12-15 very fine needles that contain semi-permanent ink) to deposit ink under the skin. This is done to achieve the look of well-defined, fuller, natural-looking eyebrows. The tool’s fine needles create featherweight strokes to make realistic-looking “eyebrow” hair strokes. If you’re currently using cosmetics or serums such as castor oil to make your eyebrows appear fuller or less patchy, microblading may be a much better option for you.

What to Expect During Treatment

Before your microblading treatment, you will have a consultation so that the precise shape, size, and color of your eyebrow ink can be selected. We will be sure to choose the perfect shade (or mix it) so that your brows look as natural as possible. On the day of your appointment, a topical anesthetic will be applied to keep you comfortable during treatment. The shape that was chosen during your consultation will be drawn onto your face and checked against your bone structure and facial expressions for the most natural appearance.

The actual microblading procedure is a meticulous and detailed process that requires great skill, precision, and patience on the part of your aesthetician. The skin is held taut as the tiny strokes are made in a natural-looking pattern. Depending on the thickness of the brows that have been selected, the treatment may take up to two hours for the first treatment and an hour and a half for touch-ups. Most individuals require about two sessions to get their desired results. These sessions will be spaced about one month apart, as it will take that long for the ink to settle and the skin to heal.

Recovery and Results

Many patients are surprised to see their brows looking very dark following the microblading procedure. Don’t be concerned—this is normal and temporary. The ink will fade. Some patients also experience some redness, swelling, and/or scabbing which may last up to two weeks. It’s important to avoid touching or picking at these scabs if they develop. You will need to keep your eyebrows dry for 7-10 days, except for any product we may advise you to use. Makeup on the brows should also be avoided during recovery. We recommend lying and sleeping on your back for ten days following your appointments, as well as avoiding direct UV exposure, tanning, facial scrubs, or any kind of peel for four weeks.

FAQ

Is microblading the same as a tattoo?

Is microblading permanent?

Is microblading the same as a tattoo?

Microblading is different than a regular tattoo because the needles only affect the superficial top layers of the skin. They don’t reach the depth that a traditional tattoo needle does. This is why touch-ups are often needed after several years.

Is microblading permanent?

Microblading results last anywhere between 12-18 months, but the longevity of the pigment will depend on your skin type.
