Dermal fillers (facial fillers) are small treatments that get big results. No matter what your problem area is, there is a dermal filler available that can take care of it. We use our dermal fillers in Chicago daily and our experienced aestheticians have extensive knowledge and familiarity with them.
Can you feel fillers in your face?
After receiving dermal filler injections, the face may feel fuller than usual due to minor post-treatment swelling. These sensations will subside within a week or so. Lip fillers cannot be felt when closing the lips or kissing.
What should I avoid after fillers?
Patients should avoid strenuous activities and exercise for the first 24 hours after their injections. For 72 hours, they should stay out of direct sun and abstain from exposure to intense heat (hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, etc.) Excess alcohol and salt should be avoided as well, as these can exacerbate swelling.
What should you not do before getting fillers?
Patients should avoid taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as Ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, and Aleve. Fish oil, high doses of Vitamin E, and Ginkgo Biloba should be set aside temporarily. Your practitioner will provide a full list of supplements and medications to postpone before treatment. Alcoholic beverages should not be consumed for 24 hours prior to your session, as this can increase the risk of bleeding and bruising. Avoid tweezing, waxing, or bleaching the skin, and stay out of the sun for a week before your appointment.
Should I lose weight before getting fillers?
Practitioners typically suggest that patients have achieved their weight loss goals prior to undergoing injectables, as this allows them to create the most successful treatment plan that properly addresses current aesthetic concerns. This is because weight loss can affect facial volume.
Do fillers look better over time?
Results after dermal fillers continue to evolve over several months. Sometimes it takes the filler a while to settle in and become integrated with the existing facial structures.
How long after fillers can I wear makeup?
Patients should avoid using makeup for at least 12 hours after their injections. This gives the skin time to properly absorb the filler.
