For women who are interested in just a bit of additional volume without surgical intervention, fat grafting is a safe, natural, and minimally invasive approach that offers low maintenance and long-term improvement in size and contour. Fat grafting (also called fat transfer) suctions fat from one area of your body where it can be spared, purifies it, and then injects it into the breasts to improve volume and shape. The fat will also be enriched with your own natural growth factors and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Many patients prefer this option because nothing foreign is introduced into the body, and the appearance and feel of the breasts are very natural. Early results from breast augmentation with fat grafting will be instantly visible, with final results at 5-6 months. Some patients will need multiple treatments in order to get their desired results.

with Implants + Fat Grafting

For women seeking more dramatic improvements in size, shape, symmetry, and fullness of the breasts, a combination of breast implants and fat grafting is often a great choice. 

Breast implants, which are more predictable in volume than fat grafting, are 100% customizable and can be matched according to your specific needs, aesthetic goals, and anatomy. The procedure works by placing the implants and then injecting the harvested fat over them, which adds a layer of padding around the implant—hiding the implant edges as well increasing the cup size. The result is a softer, smoother appearance that includes improved soft-tissue coverage.

Types of Implants 

Saline Implants

This type of breast implant is made of silicone rubber and is filled with saline after placement within the breast. These type of implants are round, and are available in many different sizes.

Silicone Implants

This type of breast implant mimics actual breast tissue and is known for its soft, natural look. They come in either a round or a teardrop shape. 

Gummy Bear Implants

This type of breast implant earns its title because of the substance it’s made of, which feels very similar to the gummy bear candy. This special substance helps the implants to be more stable, keep their shape, and feel more natural. They come in either a round or a teardrop shape.

Recovery from Implants + Fat Grafting

On average, patients need about two weeks of recovery time from implant placement. Your breasts will continue to heal and settle after this period, but you’ll be able to go back to normal life at the two-week mark. Right after undergoing implants with fat grafting, we will provide you with a surgical bra to assist with support, healing, and swelling. 

You’ll need to wear this bra for one week, at which time you may switch to wearing a soft, no-underwire bra. During the 48 hours following your procedure, we firmly recommend that you have help from a friend or family member; that you take light, short walks around your home five times a day. 

This will help to stop blood clots from developing. Also avoid showering during these first two days. Most of the bruising and swelling is typically subsided by two weeks. By six weeks, you can most likely return to heavy lifting and exercise. At approximately two months, most patients are fully recovered.
